Alizeh Shah, who has been in the news often over the past few years, shared some emotional Instagram stories on Monday. The Ehd-e-Wafa actress said this was her last try to speak up for herself. She talked about being harassed by senior actors, bullied by the media, and exploited by production houses. She also said some fellow actors had falsely accused her.
“I will expose everyone who hurt me. I’m tired of people trolling me, making fun of me, and turning me into memes. People don’t realise how hard an actor’s life is,” she said in her videos.
Alizeh Shah Reveals Truth Behind Ramp Fall Incident
In a recent video series, Shah revisited a viral moment from the 2021 Bridal Couture Week, where she stumbled on the runway alongside singer Shazia Manzoor. According to Shah, the incident was not accidental but intentional. “We had to turn right, but this lady pulled me and dragged me to the floor,” she said while sharing the clip with her followers.
She further questioned, “Why are you picking me up? Leave me alone!” alleging that throughout the show, Manzoor kept holding her by the hip and tried to make her fall.
Shah also claimed that this behaviour was part of a pattern. “This aunty would go to other shows too, making celebrities trip just to mock me,” she said. Shah named TikTok star Jannat Mirza and host Juggan Kazim as people who allegedly mocked her after the incident, despite her previous respect for them.
She shared clips showing Manzoor meeting Mirza, where Mirza recreated Shah’s fall, and another from Kazim’s morning show where Kazim mimicked the fall while Manzoor acted as the rescuer.
At the time of the incident, Shah had publicly thanked Manzoor, calling the fall a misunderstanding. She explained that she was moving left while Manzoor thought they needed to turn right, leading to her slip. Back then, she praised Manzoor as “a fireball of energy” who helped her up with care and described the evening as an emotional rollercoaster, adding that falls are part of life and strong women can always rise again.
However, that appreciation post is no longer visible on her Instagram.
‘I don’t want to work where I’m disrespected’
A large part of Shah’s recent confessional targeted the toxic environment of the television and drama industry, where, according to her, actors often have to plead just to receive their own payments. “They give us cheques after three months, and even then we have to keep asking for them. When they finally hand over the cheque, they act like they’re doing us a huge favour. This is why I stepped away from work,” she shared.
She is among several actors who have recently spoken out about delayed payments in the entertainment industry.
Shah said her insistence on getting paid fairly and being treated with dignity resulted in her being blacklisted. “People were paid to troll me online. During meetings, directors would say, ‘We’ve heard a lot about you,’ and my hands would shake hearing that. They’d tell me, ‘Your reputation is so bad, why should we cast you?’ I wonder, if you don’t want to cast me, why call me for a meeting just to question my image?” she asked emotionally. “Who gave you the right to comment on my image?”
She added that her unwillingness to follow the norms of the industry came at a price. “People think I cause problems. Once in an entire year, I requested a separate room because I smoke and didn’t want to disturb others,” she said, clarifying that she never smoked on set. “I only want respect and timely payment. If you can’t even do that, then truly, there is no bigger beggar in this industry than you.”
Shah’s Side of the Assault Story
Shah spoke about a widely shared report from the previous year accusing her of physically assaulting a co-actor and throwing a cigarette at her during filming. She stated that the situation unfolded quite differently.
“She pushed me, but I didn’t fall. Then she slapped me, and I was left shocked. After that, she began telling everyone that I had thrown a cigarette at her,” Shah explained. “I asked the cameraman to replay the footage because the cameras were rolling at that moment – and nothing like that was recorded.”
Shah admitted she later confronted the co-actor in her room out of frustration and threw her sandal at her. “Yes, I threw my sandal at her. That’s all I did. I wouldn’t even touch her. How disgusting,” she said, adding that she was advised against filing an FIR as it could disrupt the drama’s production. “But the next morning, I saw news claiming I assaulted her and tore either her or my clothes. None of that was true.”

After sharing her side of the incident, Shah spoke about the importance of consent and personal boundaries – topics often ignored in Pakistan’s entertainment industry. “I don’t let anyone touch me unless it’s required for a scene. You need to ask me first. I’m not your property,” she stated.
She also narrated an uncomfortable moment with a senior actor who allegedly blew their sweat onto her while using a hair dryer. “I’m sorry if you thought I’d treat your sweat like a blessing falling on my face, but that’s not me. Ew.”
According to Shah, her clear stance on maintaining boundaries and calling out unprofessional and unhygienic behaviour made her a target. “Some producers just want to push me out of this industry,” she added.
She urged people to reflect on how they treat artists, especially women working in male-dominated spaces. “Every artist, even juniors, deserves basic respect. Being a senior or having power doesn’t give you the right to control their careers,” she said.
“My life is already very difficult. My mother is unwell. I just want to live in peace,” she concluded.
